I’m grateful today to celebrate Mr. B’s birthday. I celebrate Mr. B’s heart, presence, humility, listening ear, and love for people. He truly taught me and embodied that attention is the purest and rarest of generosity. Thank you, Mr. B, for your generous attention.

As I reflect on Junior’s birthday, many memories come back to mind. One that came to mind today is our trips to Krispy Kreme. After a long day at work, we would sometimes find ourselves seeking out a Krispy Kreme with the Hot Now sign illuminated. The two of us would split a dozen donuts and have conversations about work, family, faith, sports, etc. I remember those conversations with great fondness and spending time with my dear friend.

Today, I plan on going to pick up a dozen and celebrate his amazing life!

And, I am going to eat them all!
